I am tired. I am oh, so tired.
I have been working a lot lately, I seem to be enjoying my job a lot more these days and I am actually motivated to get my projects done so that is a good thing. I still don't like my company but my new VP is making a lot of changes and I hope it becomes a company I would want to work for.
I am taking Friday off and I can't wait to enjoy the day. I have some stuff planned already so I will be running around but it should still be fun.
Anyway, I was talking to a guy and he asked me if I would consider dating him. He is a nice guy and all but our personalities don't really go well together. So we talked about it and I told him that I didn't see it working out etc. So he tells me 'I didn't think you would, you are way out of my league.' Since when do I have a league? It seriously had nothing to do with his looks it was his personality.
Should I be flattered that I have a league or is that more of an insult?

You totally forgot to mention that you are also tired of trying to sort out your new straight girlfriend's f-up love life, while laughing about cuanky Lindsey Lohan, and looking forward to acting like a monkey with Chico and Me next week...Yeah, thinking about all that makes *me* tired.
And yes, you have a league. Everyone has one.
A league, eh? I don't know what to think about that. Personally, I don't like the exclusionary overtones of that term. You're not an elitist. Picky, maybe. But not snobby.
However, there is lots of evidence out there that people tend to gravitate toward people with a similar caliber of looks and education. Sociologist actually study this kind of stuff. So, I guess swirly girl is right that everyone has a league.
I think you should take is as an insult, and work on self betterment. Ever heard of the phrase pigeon-holed? He's pigeon-holing you, and who wants to be pigeon-holed? Especially if you pride yourself on being a diverse and spontaneous person! I say date him out of spite!
PS. Are you replacing this straight girlfriend with swirly girl? Don't make me come down there and compete for your love Mr!
Just kidding Swirly Girl. CR tires me out. We can tag team him as his straight girlfriends. I'm OK with that.
Ummm... let's be honest fwmama. He's a snob when he wants to be.
KB- I'm just in it for the "acting like monkeys" part.
Hmm... the only league that I'm familiar with is the Justice League. baha!
Umm, I don't think he meant it as an insult. If he would have said you are way out of his league, that would have been an insult. It was the other way around so it would seem to me that he holds you up in the light or whatever. It was just his reaction to being rejected. He just had to have a comeback, but I'm sure it stung him a little.
I hope you rested well this weekend and get ready for the new week. :-)
I am so sorry that you didn't see it working out but that's good to know it before you are involved, isn't it?
I'd be confused as you are if someone told me that...
Have a fantabulous week!
Hmm...a league eh? I think I would feel more flattered than insulted but I see what your other friends are saying.
If everybody in "your" league is as nice as you, then you should definitely take it as a compliment.
And Swirly Girl, I think "Acting Like A Monkey" would make a great reality show.
As nice as you? Will... You might need to get to know him better. He's nice when he wants to be. He made me cry everytime we drove to Dallas together for our Salsa lessons! Every time! He's mean!
SG - Oh, there is nothing to sort out. You know what you need to do. DUMP the LOOSER!!! :) I can't wait to see you tomrrow :)
SM - I am picky and I am definetly not snobby no matter what KB says. The only kind I have is the homosexual kind. :)
KB - Why do you have to be so mean? I am not a snob and why would I date him out of spite?
Robert - Isn't that the cartoon characters? I think anyway.
Kris - I think you are right, I hope it wasn't meant as an insult at all. But really, when I date guys I date them b/c of their personality not b/c of their looks.
Shigeki - It was better to be upfront about it than date the guy for a couple of months and then tell him it didn't work out.
Sue - Don't believe KB, I am not a snob :)
Will - Thanks, that is so nice of you.
SG and I will definetly be acting like monkeys tomorrow, or as close as I can with only two drinks in my system.
KB - Oh no you didn't. Dont make me tell people your business on my blog. Why did you cry? It wasn't because I was trying to be mean, it was because I was talking sense into you.
You did it to make me cry. You like to watch people cry admit it! :o) Still, you made me cry a lot for a while there. ha ha ha!
I didn't mean that you would date him out of spite, I said you should date him out of spite. Just to prove the it's not a league thing.
I still stand by my comment. You can be a snob when you want to be. We all are when we want to be. If anyone can say they are not a snob on one level or another then they are lieing to themselves.
When you gonna post something new? I need some entertainment.
