Weekend

I had a fantastic weekend.

I took a little road trip to see my little brother at his college. It was homecoming weekend and he was nominated to be homecoming king. Unfortunately he didn't win but we had a great time at the tail gate party, the football game, and then we went to the gay bars.

One of the guys I am dating went with me and it was a great opportunity for us to get to know each other more. It was a 6 hour round trip so we had a lot of time to talk and get to know each other. He is a great guy and we talked a lot about "us" and our dating situation.

I am glad he went with me. He helped me out by telling me when to cheer and when to sit down at the football game. I think I got the hang of it though and I will probably be watching more football.

After the game we parted ways with my brother and his friends and we were going to drive back home but decided to go to the gay bars in the small college town. Since we didn't really prepare for that we didn't know how to get there. So I called my brother and surprisingly he knew where they were. Even after he gave us directions we couldn't find the gay bar so we went and picked up my brother and he took us. He didn't stay but he at least showed us where the place was.

We decided to make the two hour drive back home so we left the bars at 1 and got home at three. We didn't get out of bed until 1:30 today, went and grabbed lunch, and then came back home and took naps off and on until 7 p.m.

Oh, and guess what? On the drive back we saw a shooting star. It was AMAZING and beautiful!

Update

It's been a long time since my last post so I figured I would do a quick update.

The three men in my life went to four, then to two. I am going on a road trip with one of them this weekend so I hope that goes well.
I am having coffee with the other one next week.

I have already had the "I am dating others" conversation with both of them so I don't feel the need to stop seeing either one of them. They both like me a little more than I like them though.

My car broke down yesterday. Well, it didn't completely break down, it just started making a weird noise so I decided to take it to the shop. It turns out it was the timing belt, the water pump, and something else. After it was all said and done it cost me a lot but my car is now working and noise free.

Work is going well.

My friend is decorating my place. I think I have mentioned that I have been in my condo for almost a year and I haven't done anything to it. I decided to ask my friend to help me.
He was over for an hour and a half on Wednesday and my place already looks a lot different. He is so creative, he just started moving furniture and placing frames, statues, paintings, etc against walls where he thinks it will look good. All I need now is a hammer and some nails and I will be set.
I do have to buy a couple of new furniture pieces. I am getting a chair, a coffee table, and a catch-all table. I also need a couple of paintings or big pictures. I am looking through my collection of pictures I have taken over the years to see if there is anything there I would want to use.

I went to an art show last weekend and I bought a really nice painting. It was a silent auction and the lady who was bidding against me rubbed me the wrong way so there was no way I was going to let her have it. My friend found a perfect place for it, we just have to hang it now.

Bragging

I am not bragging, well maybe a little, but yesterday I was told the break light in my car was out. I was thinking about taking my car to the shop to have it done but I decided I could probably figure it out myself. I saw my friend Will change my other break light a few months ago and it didn't look to hard so I decided to give it a try.

After buying the bulb at the auto parts store I went home and attempted to install it. Surprisingly it took me less than 2 minutes to put it in.

I am not bragging, but I rock.

The men in my life

I had a date on Saturday with the guy I met from match.com. We just met up for coffee. He is a nice guy but I don't think he is for me.
He is a relationship type of guy and I just don't mix well with those guys. As soon as they start talking about kids, pets, or moving in...I get scared and I run. Especially when it happens on the first date.

The other guy...he is a free spirit. He can't stay in a city for longer than a year. He has spend the last few years just moving around and doing whatever he needs to get by. When he gets the itch he moves again. But I like that he is a free spirit, I think that would be good for me...for the month or two that it would last.

The other guy...well. I met him through a friend. She thinks we will really work out but I am not so sure. He is a nice guy. We have our first date on Friday.


It seems that men always come in three's into my life. I always have to choose one...and I always choose the wrong one. But I get good memories....

Foot in My Mouth

In one of my previous post I mentioned I signed up for Match.com because I was depressed about my current relationship status. I met a guy, we really haven't talked much but we are getting to know each other. We will see where it goes.

Here is an excerpt of our conversation last night:

Him: I am sorry I didn't call you back yesterday. My mom and my aunt started calling me at 5 in the morning and I was tired.
Me: At 5 in the morning? Why? If anyone calls me that early somebody better be dead.
Him: Well...
Me: Oh, I am sorry.

Turns out his granfather died. I think I just lost all chances of getting together with that guy.

Lessons Learned

I learned two important lessons today.

Cat got my tongue
Why do I volunteer to pick up a package from a guy I have a crush on? Haven't I learned that when I have a crush on someone I turn into a blubbering idiot?

I learned not to be around cute guys I have a crush on. IDIOT!

Dress me up, dress me down
As I was getting ready to go to lunch my boss approached me and wanted to know if I wanted to go to a luncheon for some award presentation. I would be taking our boss', boss' boss place at the luncheon.
Me being the good employee that I am, tried to get out of it because I am not dressed appropriately for a luncheon. Since I really couldn't say no I had to borrow a co-workers tie and went without a coat. I was way under dressed.

I learned to keep a tie and a coat at work.

Birthday Update

My birthday was great.

It all started with the happy hour this past Tuesday. About 20 people showed up and we had a good time.

I hanged out with some friends on Friday to celebrate my b-day. Nothing major just hanged out and ate.

On Saturday my sisters and brother in law cooked up a feast for me. Smoked brisket, smoked sausage, smoked chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, cake, pies, and flan. Way, way to much food.

We also had cranberry martininis, apple martinis, dirty martinis, and lemon drop martinis. So what do we do after so much drinking? We kareoke. We are all horrible but we all have such a good time singing.

I was in no shape to drive home so I stayed with a friend. I came home this morning and I just slept most of the day.

I quit my job today

Yeah. I turned in my resignation today. My boss accepted my resignation. Minutes later my VP called. After several hours of conversation and several more hours of thinking about the changes we discussed I have decided to stay. With a pay increase and a new title of course.

I just found out the company I had accepted a job from sent out a company wide announcement saying I would be starting the new job. I had to call and email them to tell them I wasn't. I think hey are mad at me.

Wish me luck in my new adventure.

As seen in a women's bathroom

I was at a gay bar and I had to use the restroom, rather than waiting in line at the men's restroom I decided to use the women's restroom because there wasn't a line.

Anyway, the sign says "Men dressed as women, please lift the toilet seat."

And yes, I did lift the toilet seat up...and NO I was not dressed as a woman.

State Fair

I went to the state fair today and had a great time. This will mostly be a picture post. For those of you who have not been to the State Fair of Texas, it's all about eating. Eating fried food. And eat I did.


I went to the fair with my friend Kathy, her daughter Cloey, her niece, and her mom. Do you see the monkey in the picture? I won that playing a game at the fair.


For a Monday, there was a lot of people there.


The only game I rode was the merry go round.


We had a lot of food. This is my first corn dog. Kathy and I later shared a Jalapeno and cheese corn dog.
