Hmm. Hard to say. At the office, I purposely try to avoid politics. I usually just smile and nod when someone is passing along the dirt. But news among friends and family piques my interest.
I think of gossip as something malacious. Tidbits passed along with the expressed purpose of embarassing or degrading a person. That's something I try to avoid.
I don't know. I think I think like fwmama. If someone asks me "what's the latest gossip" my mind automatically trys to think of anything terrible I've heard.
But I guess just talking about normal non terrible things can also be considered gossip.
I am like shigeki too. I sometimes find myself anoyed when I overhear people gossiping, but sometimes I participate. I am more likely to do it when I am with my friends. I definately try and stay out of it while at work. I think I do a good job at this one.
